Cobain Mustang Phase Switching

I'm curious if what I'm hearing from my Cobain Mustang is correct. There are nine possible combinations for the neck and bridge phase switches. Below is a diagram of the different configurations.

1. -0- -0- = No Sound
2. 0-- -0- = Sound 1
3. --0 -0- = Sound 1
4. -0- 0-- = Sound 2
5. -0- --0 = Sound 2
6. 0-- 0-- = Sound 3
7. 0-- --0 = Sound 3
8. --0 0-- = Sound 4
9. --0 --0 = Sound 4

I understand why positions 2,3 and 4,5 sound the same since we're just using one of the pickups. But why do 6,7 and 8,9 sound the same? It's almost as if the phase switch on the bridge (humbucker) doesn't change anything. Is that correct?

There should only be a total of 4 sounds, because the total options available are:

neck solo
bridge solo
neck+bridge in phase
neck+bridge out of phase

So what you are getting is

1. -0- -0- = No Sound (both off)
2. 0-- -0- = Sound 1 (bridge solo)
3. --0 -0- = Sound 1 (bridge solo)
4. -0- 0-- = Sound 2 (neck solo)
5. -0- --0 = Sound 2 (neck solo)

This is where it should be different:

6. 0-- 0-- = Sound 3 (neck+bridge in phase)
7. 0-- --0 = Sound 3 (neck+bridge out of phase)
8. --0 0-- = Sound 4 (neck+bridge out of phase)
9. --0 --0 = Sound 4 (neck+bridge in phase)

So, after running that down, the conclusion is that one of your switches is either wired backwards or simply installed backwards because 6/9 should be the same and 7/8 should be the same. Or maybe it's supposed to be that way for practical reasons?

1st nice name. its good to see someone who has the same name as me.
2nd it seems too confusing to be practical at all. why not use a 5 way switch with your hh setup?

Thanks for the feedback jonny-b-brown. I talked with the guys at Guitar Center and we've come the the conclusion that The Bridge switch isn't wired correctly. It appears both forward and backward set the humbucker in-phase. I've contacted Fender but they have responded.

Thought I should post a followup. I talked to Fender yesterday and the way the guitar is working is correct to Kurt's setup. The bridge switch just turns the humbucker on/off. The phase switching is all done on the neck pickup.
