Customizing My Fender Startocaster

i have a Fender Stratocaster Deluxe Edition and i have a bridge with a tremolo bar, i would like to know if it's possible to change my bridge with a Hard Tail bridge with no tremolo bar. i wondering this because of the ''spring'' (i dont know if this word's correct) under the back plate of my guitar. what i must do ??

Fuzzhead is on a distinguished road
Does putting on 5 springs essentially make it a hardtail, or just very hard to move without a bar?

It makes it harder to move, but it's still not that hard to use the trem.

I thought, for a moment, that you had a Starcaster.

You can't put a hard tail bridge on a strat body with a trem cutout - it's missing a huge amount of wood where the bridge block would sit. It's theoretically possibly to fill the trem cavity somehow, but totally impractical - you might as well get a new body.

You could, however, just wedge a block of wood between the bridge block and the guitar body. This is an old repair trick to prevent the bridge from moving around during adjustment. This is somewhat trickier on a two-point strat bridge since there is some play to pull up on the bar. It would also be a good idea to put all five springs as well as use the block.
