eeeeeeeeeeeeek Neck Pickup Hole Cover

I am removing the pickup from the neck end of the guitar, but instead of leaving a nasty hole I would like to place a plate over the hole to protect it and increase its aesthetic value.

However, I cant find any of these plates anywhere! Dan Hawkins uses one on his "black shuck" les paul, but I cant really ask him where he got it from..... lol.

This is the closest example I can find, basically its a simple plate that screws in where the pickup surrounds normally do!

http://webzoom.freewebs.com/danhawki...k%20shuckT.JPG

Does anyone have any idea where I can get one? I live in the UK but a site from anywhere is ok, I will pay any postage!

Any help much appreciated, thank you!

why not just keep the pickup in there and never switch it on?

Estin...i do exactly the same thing...I miss Robin in the NIN line up he brought a lot to the band and I think their old line up of Lohner/Clouser/Dillon/Finck/Reznor sounded much better then their current one. Finck is just amazing and he is doing an awesome job with GNR. Man With An Axe makes a good point too. I suppose it just depends on the look your going for...I personally like the Finck look but it would be a good idea just to leave the pickup in there and just not have it wired.

I saw the guitarist for I am the avalanche at warped tour last sunday in jersey have an SG standard off the the side with a piece of duct tape covering the pickup switcher to the treble position. it was pretty punk rock looking.

I agree that you should make one. being original with a little something that sets you apart even is definitely a good thing.

maybe take some plastic from something like this (a backplate), and cut it out in the shape of the pickup hole and just stick it in there and use some glue or something.

good luck with whatever your looking for

Get a plastic bin (trash can, whatever you call them)
Make a rubbing of the hole (hehe)
Cut the side of the bin out in the right shape
Attach.

Or use duct tape. Or a piece of metal, because then it would be shiney.

I just used electrical tape. Please don't buy anything music specific plastic wise, it'll stupidly overpriced for what it is. Just take pop_n_fresh's advice.

you could also fit a small lcd screen in there, i've done this to a xbox game console before. that way my buddy didn't have to attach it to a tv to play it.

anyhow get a small lcd sceen offline that would fit in there, then you can program it to display whatever you want......
