Epiphone Sheraton Help

So, I've been looking to buy a used epiphone sheraton for quite some time now, and I came across a good deal, problem is, I have a hunch it might be too good to be true. I posted some photos, the sheraton's I have seen have the epiphone instead of gibson..

any help?

So what's the problem John? Are you worried it might be a fake? If you want one and it's in good nick, just buy it mate.

Gibson doesn't make a Sheraton, it's an Epiphone-only model like the Casino. The one you posted looks legit to me. I love dots and sheratons since I've always wanted a 335 but can't justify the cost. The Ibanez artcore AS73 is also a nice version if you want a slightly narrower neck (see pic).

And thank you, now I have GAS for another semihollow.....

From what I understand, the 'Gibson' truss rod cover indicates that it is an older Korean model rather than one of the newer Chinese models, which have the Epiphone 'E' logo truss rod cover. Save for any breaks/repairs or other unforeseen issues this is likely to be one of the better Sheratons on offer at the moment.

It may even be Japanese made. I have a LP that has the small Epi headstock and says Gibson On the truss rod cover. It is at least 25 years old and is indistinguishable from a USA made LP except for the headstock which looks like a Gibson except it is a little narrower at the top and says Epiphone. If it is MIJ most likely it will be exceptional. Look for a little paper sticker that says MIJ under the serial number or evidence of one once being there. People tend to remove them.

I've had a few beers and was wondering how could one tell a pedal's been to Japan...

Selling BOSS FW-3. I live in Brazil, mind you, so prepare yourself for $30-ish for shipping and waiting. Local pickup available, along with beautiful beaches and cheap bitches.
