I think i just found my next guitar

Squire J Mascis Jazzmaster

Having just seen this thing a few days ago online i really want one. i love the that its in some other color than black or sunburst. Once i get my hands on that neck and it feels right im gonna have to buy it. Squire has been putting out some good stuff lately, i got a tele thinline and its my favorite electric. What do you guys think about this one?

You CANNOT be serious...I have known about this for a good 3 weeks and was JUST about to make a post about this; I'll have to add this as my backup guitar less my MIM Jazzy fails me

It's pretty snazzy - I'm guessing lots of these will be bought by people who either need a backup for a MIJ or MIA jazzy, or people who want a jazzy as a second guitar for occasional bits of shoegazey fun... and of course for people who just want a jazzy full stop but have limited funds... either way - woohoo!

Considering how the nearest alternative price-wise is the Blacktop that has a bridge humbucker and no rhythm circuit, this one isn't too bad at all. The adjust-o-matic bridge irks my inner JM purist, but otherwise it's a really nice piece of kit.

I'm still GAS-ing for the CIJ hollowbody I saw in Kyoto last month though. Damn you, exchange rate! *shakes fist*

Yeah, a couple of years ago guitars were insanely cheap in Japan but exchange rates have stuffed that a bit (that's with AUD anyway)

What do you mean? You don't think the AmVintage Jazzmasters are close? This Squier has a 9.5" radius fretboard which I think is a good thing but it's hardly vintage accurate.
