Jackson DK2M ... HELP!

I have recently Decided that i need a new axe, i have been playing jacksons for a quite a while and have an EX Steal and another Dinky, btoh from 1990ish and i love them.. except one thing.
when i lower the action on them, the low E string sounds horrible. alsmot like a scratchy notes. but anyway.

I Am looking at the snow white DK2M (god it looks sexy) and ive herd how awsome it sounds high up on the neck, but i was wonder because its a bolt on.. and its got a floyd rose wha the bottom end is like .. this is whats lacking on my other jacksons.. the bottoms end lacks clarity and punch.. seems to be very twangy and lifeless on the E string.

but i was wondering what the action of the dk2m is like, and what kind of bottom end i shud expect with a low action on it.

if anyone else has anyother suggestions to anyother guitars in a similar price range i would be very gratefull

thanks.

I believe a few people have DK2M's including Talent?, hopefully one of them will chime in with their opinions for you.

Yea the Talents image of his white DK2M (and mess if i recall) lol
is one of the reasons i consdiered it in the first place, his review is one of the few on the internet. must be a rare guitar for some reason.. killer looks, duncans, better FR than the normal licened, maple neck and cheap cheap cheap.
maby its because they were only released in 2006?

Yes, I have one, and the mess.

You live near me, I'm quite happy to let you test out my DK if you want, the action is as low as I can get it, without fretting out. It's not a bad axe by any means, I just wish I'd saved up longer and got an Ibanez, the bolt on joint is really in the way. It's a really bright guitar, not much bottom end to me.

Thats very kind of you, im in southport not liverpool btw.

i feel a bit ashamed to admin it but i love the guitar tone on
"Reinkaos" ablum, from Dissection.
that album takes to much ****.. but anyway. i was wondering if a seymour duncan invader may help me get what i want..

Wirral for me.

It's quite a bright sound, more of a shreddy guitar than a metal one. Dawson's in Liverpool had one in, last time I checked.

I've not heard that album, so I can't comment on if it can do that sound.

£323 I think it was.

I can try recording something tomorrow, it'll have to be in standard tuning though, I've not set the bridge up for lowered tunings.

No problem, may take a couple of days cos I need to buy a distortion pedal, as my V Amp 2 isn't cutting it for high gain.

I got mine from www.thomann.de , but they only seem to stock the crimson swirl model no. I originally wanted the trans-black model, but only places that stocked it, wanted £100 more for it.

i emailed them and they said they wud have more in Snow White by the end of april
and one more thing...
how low is the action?
and ive had licenced FR's b4 and they suck.. but the new low profile ones on the Dk2M is made of a new steel, not like the old one. aparntly its 100x better.. how well dose it retain pitch?

I've not got a ruler handy, but it's very low action, if it was any lower, the strings fret out when I pull back on the bar.

It holds it's pitch pretty well, but not on a par with the Edge Pro on my Ibanez.

very true, edge pro and the edge III trems are AWSOME as well as the ZR and the other new one..
but, how do u think a duncan invader would fit in the bridge? in quite a fan of them, and their high outputs. maby that would add that little bit extra over the JB. or do you find the JB complilemts the alder?

I'm not fond of the Edge III, although the others are excellent.

I don't like the jb or the invader much, too bright for me and not defined enough, respectively.

I'd put something like a duncan custom or screamin' demon in, but I lean towards the classic metal sounds personally.

Well, will the JB give enough of a punch? I want a crisp powerfull tone. and hopefully the birghtness will give me clearer tones without getting muddy?
