Jaguar HH

Hey guys-

Do any of you have a Jaguar HH? What do you think of the pickups?

I've actually already ordered this thing a few weeks ago, but you know that feeling when you're waiting to get a new piece of equipment. Gah, I just can't keep still!

Anyways, I've been looking around and I'm already looking for some new pickups to put in this thing, before I've even heard it.

So, do the pickups sound good? Does anyone have recommendations for better pickups?

I think I need an introduction now...

Let's see... This is my first post here, but I've been lurking around these forums for a while. It's actually given me a lot of ideas for my future rig...

Eh, there's really nothing else to say.

I haven't played one of those, but what kind of music would you be looking to play? That could affect your pickup choice a lot.

Hm. Well, I want pickups that will be able to take a lot of gain and have a higher output. But, then again, that might change once that guitar actually comes in, so...

I have one! Obviously it's not exactly a 'metal' guitar, as others have suggested it might help if you can tell us what sort of music you play. I run mine through a couple of rats, and it sounds good to my ears. Not overflowing with bass, but good. The only criticism I have with it is the tailpiece - you'd think that having a tune-o-matic and a hard tail would add sustain, but the tailpiece is so far away from the bridge that the string angle over the bridge is pretty ridiculous - not as bad as a regular jag, but not far off.

In fact, mine's been in a shop for over a month now, I'm having a regular jag tailpiece fitted (quite a big job, requires routing the body), along with a buzzstop to increase string angle.

So, the short answer is... It's a joy to play, but see for yourself when you get it, because you may find that changing the pickups isn't the first thing you might want doing to it!
