JM/Jag owners: anyone heard of the 'Staytrem'?

I found this link to an upgrade trem arm that is intended to fix the annoying habit that push-in trem arms have of working loose and falling out. As the love-struck owner of a CIJ JM with one such wobbly trem, it looks like a cost-effective upgrade.

£30 sounds like a lot for a trem arm and collet bushing, but considering how a full AVRI trem assembly (not counting the arm!) goes for almost £100 on this side of the pond, it might be worth looking into.

I'm actually surprised that the market isn't already flooded with various solutions to the infamous loose trem arm problem, but this is the first one I've seen that requires replacement of just the arm and its mounting bushing rather than replacing the whole unit. Anyone tried one? Thoughts?

I think the new Johnny Marr Jaguar has one. On a different forum I've heard good things too.

I have a Johnny Marr Jag and I love the fact that the trem stays where I leave it. However, this is my first Jag, so I don't know what the issues were like prior to this model. I think it's a now brainer as far as keeping the bar in one spot...

Some people tape their bars and all that good stuff, too.

That's the one! I'm not as fussed about the loose-ness - I quite like being able to have it high out of the socket and able to rotate it out of the way when I'm not using it, but I'm sick of the arm falling out completely.

There are replacement collet/bushings but it looks like even the AVRI pieces have the same arrangement of four teeth that the CIJ parts have. The AVRI trems are supposed to feel more solid and smooth udirng use, but the arm will I think still work itself loose over time.

Sounds like I'll be doing an AVRI upgrade to my trem assembly, and swapping the arm and bushing for the Staytrem soon after. £30 still sounds like a lot, but it's worth it if it works.
