New Gibsons

Has anyone checked out the Gibson site recently? They are debuting a number of new guitars at the NAMM show. Some look really nice, especially this one

Kinda looks like an updated version of the Trini Lopez 335.

Yes! and double yes!. The rest IMO, look ok. Just the design doesn't really float my boat.

The Les Paul GT and Vegas GT is the only ones looking good, the other ones kinda sucks ass, but that's just my two cents.

the 'New Century' models are horrible! Plus don't the 'Menace' Les Paul and SG just look like the 'Goth' series or the 'Voodoo' series?

The New Century LP looks like a cheap Zemaitis knock-off IMO. The Menace models look even worse than the Voodoo ones to me. All of the new models remind me of Gibson's approach in the 1970s

They all look like cheap beginner guitars. Nothing more than toys. I'm sure the quality is a lot higher than that, but that's just what it looks like to me. Anybody else getting that vibe?

I like the look of the one new SG. I always liked SG's in white, but the tuners and those ugly pickups really make me want to vomit.

they all look like one off gimmics to me. kinda status symbols.

and what the hell is at the back of the SG GT?

i dont realy like any of them. but thats just me. is that LP Special New Century with the mirror scratch plate new?

gibson should realy stick to what they know. vintage looking, excelent playing guitars. and if you wanna release a new line, release a new shape

The description for the Vegas guitars says "Play Like A Whale". o_0 What the heck?

I like the Les Paul Goddess and Vixen, they're kinda like utility aimed, but probably not a low enough price to actually be utilitarian. >_> But who knows, not like I can afford any of them anyhow. <_<

did anyone else notice the goddess ice burst is just white?...altho there is something drawing me to the goddess models.
I like the SGGT but id like to see the other colours too

is it just me or is the new century ones just completely stupid as theyll get scratched the minute their out the gig bag.....and you couldnt even smash it cos it would be 7 years bad luck! (sorry couldnt resist hehe)

the rest are kinda ok i guess but the new century ones make me wanna cry a little lol

...so I checked out all the new models. Those are some of the worst looking guitars that Gibson has produced. I wish it were a sick april fools joke. I can't imagine them selling well.

Makes me look forward to playing my old SG at the show tonight.

I was pretty underwhelmed. The SG GT would be cool minus the weird bridge cover, and the LP GT has some cool features, but other than that none of them really wow me. I like some of the new ESP/LTDs and Fenders(Koa top tele w/ vintage bridge...)
