trem question

I just got hit with the idea of putting a kahler that requires no routing onto my schecter c-1 elite and then putting in a sliding nut (i think its what its called, the metal ones on the jeff beck strats) and locking tuners. will that stay in tune after a bunch of divebombs and ****?

reply asap please

thanks

make sure that your trem is set up right and get sperzil locking tuners, and it should work fine.

I set up my buddy's strat with a kahler but because he hates locking nuts I put one of these with a bar, on it so the strings would stay in place, but not be affected by the variable tension. It's worked out great.

I wish I would have thought of putting a J. Beck style nut on though, good thinking.

This is a setup I've considered myself, since it's what Adrian Belew had on his Strats before he switched to the Parker Fly. Yes, it seems to stay in tune. The Jeff-Beck-style nut is by LSR; it's wider than a standard nut and you have to cut the neck. I'd be terrified to put it on myself, cause it seems like if you place it wrong your intonation is history.
