Unidentifiable Mandolin-Shaped Guitar
Hey everyone,
So this guy purchased 3 similar-style guitars from a garage sale and brought them in to be repaired. None of them have markings and I can't figure out what any of them are. The only relevant thread I can find is:Scroll F-Style Mandolin shaped Guitar? and none of the guitars mentioned match this guitar. Here are some pictures: Front - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...nk/guitar1.jpg Back - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...nk/guitar3.jpg Headstock - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...nk/guitar4.jpg Scroll close-up - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...nk/guitar2.jpg Does anyone have any ideas? It also came with a custom case, no markings. It's driving me crazy! |

I've never seen anything like it. But I like the dragon.

So I posted this same thread on a Mandolin forum. Apparently the guitar is made by guitar makers in Vietnam that are primarily sold via a few retailers on eBay.
They identified it as such because of the complex inlay. They're considered "blinged" out but not necessarily high-quality instruments. If anyone has any different information, let me know. Here is a link to the other forum thread: Scroll F-Style Mandolin shaped Guitar? - Page 2 |

What the Vietnamese builders are able to do is to incorporate many hours of hand-work at a price that others cannot match. I like vietnamese brands,, in facts i studied on how do i play guitar by using Vietnamese guitar brand..
