I find that 95% of having a good night is finding the optimum balance of Amp vs Drums vs Monitors etc. At 6'6" my Marshall 4x12 slant cabs are hitting me in the back of the knees! Unless the stage is 12' deep (very rare) I can't hear myself. Obviously, I could stack them but I don't like it right in my ear either (maybe I could get used to it?) Is there any other answer? These cabs seem to project in a very narrow path so finding that sweet spot is tough, especially with "sidewash" and "turn it down" fanatical soundmen. Can anyone relate?
Any thought on the Fulltone Fat Boost pedal? |

how many cabs are you using you could try more and spread them about abit? how about a little DI? you could always try getting used to it- its cheaper.

get flight cases for them and have the cabs sit on top of them. it will get them off the ground and protect your investement. i mean the you are probably really only hearing the top two speakers from each cab anyways, the ones on the ground arent really giving you anything at 6'5''
have you thought of a monitor? get a small monitor to put in front of you that tilts up so you dont have to have your amps on full out. maybe two expensive ideas, but both would work. what i am doing now is using two milk crates untill i can save for good ATA flight cases.

a friend of mine makes homemade cabs, and put his 412 with tilt legs. you might want to try getting some. tilt the cab some.

![]() Chairs are good for elevating them, or build a woden box to put the cab on and cover it with carpet or black material. the more expencive option is monitors, but I would have a go at making a box or something. |

Never take advice on what to do with your spine from a guy whose user status is "paralyzed."
