I've heard that Amplitube better captures your playing dynamics. It does a really nice not clean yet not dirty tone.

I agree with zeppelanoid here, I have used both extensively and yes the cleans are nice on Amplitube but overall I think guitar rig is a nicer and more usable product. The dirty tones are much better, much better/wider selection of amps/pedals/racks and imo the tone sounds better in guitar rig! I really dig the Marshall JCM model in guitar rig!

Guitar rig is much better effectswise, and the couple of amp models I use sound really pretty good.

Already hijacking, can anyone compare one of those (or both) to Eleven? I'm really curious about that...

Selling BOSS FW-3. I live in Brazil, mind you, so prepare yourself for $30-ish for shipping and waiting. Local pickup available, along with beautiful beaches and cheap bitches.

im wondering about the eleven rack too.
how old is this post ?

im just in the middle of purchasing amplitube(2 i believe, with x gear, hendrix, metal, ampeg). & am running a crack of guitar rig 2.

can honestly say guitar rig 4 has the best amplification tones.
not sure abouit dynamics ?

but amplitube should keep me busy for at least a year =]

anyone else ???....

i'm using guitar rig3, i'm no where near a master guitarist / producer but it seems to do what i want. And it helps a lot to improve my skills on how to play guitar..

Amplitube is awesome but too much low end on everything for my tastes. I'm a Guitar Rig fan, and lately I've been getting wicked results from combining different amp sims on a single guitar track: my favorite set up for high gain/metal tones is Guitar Rig + Vandal + Pod Farm. The resulting mix is a crushingly heavy tone but not too muddy or discordant.

By itself, I think Vandal's metal tones are better than all the other amp sims, but they kind of all sound similar--but mixed with a heavy guitar rig tone, you can use Vandal's balls without sounding generic.
