Akai e2 headrush

Has anyone had any expierience with the new version of the akai headrush as a looper. i know shane reccomended I get this instead of the lofi loop junky for a dedicated looper, but I have read some stuff about it having lots of hiss and the bypass not being very good.

Anyone know or hear anything about this??? The price is right. I've seen it for 170 bucks on the web.

I have no problem like this with my E1 since I tossed the dedicated adaptor for a godlyke.

If I see a E2 around I will let you know. I suspect most of the noise is, again, the **** adaptor that comes with it.

Just got the E2 a few days ago, and I love it. I really like the delay, and the four outputs (although it is incredibly frustrating that you can't use them outside of the tape echo) are dandy.

I had problems w/ the RC20, even though I know people swear by them. I just never got used to the switches, and it was tough to get accurate loops.

The Headrush uses standard switches like the DL4, and I think they'll hold up just fine.

There's a bit of hiss, but it's most definitely less than the RC20 (in my rig, anyway). It's still there, but I'm running the portion of the signal that utilizes the Headrush into a bass amp.

Lastly, I love the ability to overdub quite a bit and then revert back to the original loop. Great feature. Of course, it doesn't store loops like the RC-20, but I'm creating them more on the fly.

Really, the only upgrade that I can tell is the ability to bump the sample rate down for longer loop time. The controls aren't that intuitive, but they're not devilish, either.

For what I need, I THINK the E2 is it. I'll have a better idea in the next few weeks, though.

Anyone know if you can run it off of a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2? Might that help the hiss?

I run my E1 off a Godlyke and it got rid of the hiss. So I suspect running the E2 with a better quality adaptor might solve this issue as well.

Thanks for a cool revew on this box. I might have to look into one after i get my DD-20.

i ended up getting a used rc-20 for a really good price. If I end up hating it for some reason, i'll definatly go for the headrush.

thanks for the review

Don't make me nervous. Is it really that bad. I thought it was a fairly well liked looper.

This is my problem with it. I could never get a proper balance between the Input and output volumes without my rig overdriving. It seemed to hate the racks I would use for reverbs. Now, you might not have this probelm, but as soon as I stuck another unit in line with a outut volume(rack, magic stomp, POD, etc) it became a nightmare.

I don't use any rack stuff, no magicstomp and no pod. So I should be cool.
