I gotta say i disagree with you about the RV-5, but I see where your coming from. I might have just missed it but have youe tried some of the stryom stuff. The Blue Sky might just be the perfect reveb and shimmer for this type of music IMO

had it and the el capistan. Sold both. Not worth the hype. They sound weird and as nice as the A/D stage is, they sounded almost too good for guitar.

Granted, I like early, old crusty digital pedals. In the band I have a rule of only using pedals i can replace anywhere on earth. It's all mxr, boss, and ehx stuff beyond my eb volume.

Tried any of Zoom's newest stuff? I'm on the fence about it. The G9.2tt has a great sounding preamp section and the tubes warm up anything that comes out of it nicely, but I'm just not exactly sure about the neutrality of it. I've got a beautiful sounding patch that uses a Fender-type clean with a gritty compression into a modulated delay and ping-pong type delay. From there it's into its Arena type reverb pretty much wide open. Decay on maximum and mix at 100%. It sounds great running through tubes and whatnot between the G9's preamps and my Peavey amp, but on its own, the reverb just kinda lacks life. Tone control on it sucks balls, though, so "warming up" the reverb isn't an option, because it actually gets softer if you use any high cut at all. There's little option to most modules, it's pretty much just functional. But there's a lot of effects and a lot you can do with it, so I still like the unit. I'm sure using a rack-mount effect unit would be better, and a lot of these stompboxes sound cool, but I'm sold on multi-fx and I have no money for a Fractal unit, so... any ideas?

Gotcha I can undertand that. Same with me and my old TS9 and crybaby I could mod them or have something better but I like the "degradation" it makes on my sound. It's a very Nels Cline kinda attidude who is a Guitar GOD to me along with Frusiante who also has that kinda twisted warped sound.
