Help me build your bit crusher

I've been after a bit crusher for a while and it seems that no cheap sturdy options exist. So I decided to build one for myself. Things went smoothly, now thoughts of making one commercially have popped into my head. I'm just wondering if anyone else is interested, and what features would you like to see?
Currently it's just:
Mix, level, and a set of 8 jumpers inside to change the bit rate and get into wave folding, it's also true bypass.
Worth maybe 100 Aus? I dunno

oh and did you ever consider DODmultis for bitcrushing? cheap sturdy but not too great a bypass.

It's just an ad chip into a da chip, using an IC socket filled with jumpers for each bit, with a generic mixer stage. You'd do better to build one yourself IMO, most of the "schematic" is from the app. notes

On the DODs I was under the impression that they didn't do wave folding

For wavefolding, with mine for example you can take the bit that might correspond to the bottom part of the wave and redirect it to to the top, making an "Octave" sound.

Thanks for all the support. I'll probably do a run of 4-7, the box will come as striaght up aluminium, with labels scraped in. at the moment you'll have to unscrew the bottom to get into the wave folding bit. $100aus seems fair, I think plus free replacement. I'll start things rolling, but don't expect much till next year. Anything else you want to see, just type it down.

I haven't really drawn it out but it's dead simple. Take the Sir H C bit crusher from aaron's forum, modifiy it from spec sheet for available chips, replace the switches with jumpers in an IC socket, then finally a preamp with an active mixer stage.

I've been planning out the exact same idea. I've just had trouble finding the right chips. Which chips did you use?

Just the ones from Jaycar, the two chips were about $15
