what about guitars?
Are there any specific guitars that are better or well suited for ambient music?
thanks -Iain |

Some effects track better with a single coil in the neck, and I've personally found that sort of pickup more manageable with an e-bow. But then again you might not want it to track, you might want it to glitch, so...eh personally I ended up buying a Jag instead of the Jazzmaster I'd set out to buy, because I thought it responded better with heaps of effects.

I find my hollowbody works really well.
But most ambient and post-rock guitarist use fenders (esp jazzmasters/jaguars). Quite a few use aluminium neck guitars.

surprisingly enough, i get a really great ambient sound out of my Fender Telecaster FMT. it's all mahogany, set neck, two coil-splittable SD pickups (a pearly gates and a reverse-wound 59).
