so, i got a chance to see My Bloody Valentine in concert here in Los Angeles before they went off to play at Coachella.

needless to say it was a stunning show.

highlights were:
1. watching the show, of course.
2. the massive wall of sound, of course.
3. meeting johnny marr (yes, *that* one)
4. watching MBV for the first time.

The in-house mixing board wasn't good enough so they trucked in...

I still listen to the same **** I usually listen to (brit-pop; '60s ****; shoegazing stuff; dance music; etc.) ... pretty much a lot of everything. But I've been really behind on some good old fashioned Americana/Alt-Country/Singer-Songwriter-y stuff as well as some cool indie-rock bands.

So - like I usually do - I go backwards to go forwards and caught up with a lot of great music that I missed out on. It's sorta weird following up on music that people have loved for a while but...
