tbh, I can't recall which way it turned for more or less.knowing me it probably ended up being counterclockwise, but the only way to know for sure is to see which position has more balls to it.

yeah, but it's kind of softer so you don't feel a definate click. You can overdo it if you don't stop turning, just use a little bit of force and don't go crazy.

That's how it works, iirc. use your ears to see if it's wired that way or the opposite. Either way you should be able to tell the difference.

I was getting a starved voltage on some old fuzz pedal. But it won't happen to most pots, just if you get the voltage low enough to arc over the +/- 5% tolerance of the pot.
