honestly, I listen to a LOT of sting, but I haven't ever really touched up on the police But yeah, delay is 99% of gilmours tones :B He only really used the CE-2 during the 80s though, while he was using those EMGs with that crazy (I think 25db) active midboost During the 70s was flangers (I think before too? I'm more of an 80s to present Gilmour guy). And now he doesn't use any modulation at all

My board isn't very portable at all. It's heavy, and has that rp500 which isn't tied down or anything. It used to have power cables dangling from the bottom, but that's taken care of now. And yeah, no lid or case or anything So no much protection But I use it because I had fun spending time with my old man makin it. The ideal thing for me is

one of these thangs. But the shipping costs are ridiculous I'm gonna use this one for a while.

Got my board's power supplys hidden on the bottom and all bolted on Everything's road ready now! I'll be sure to get a few pics of it soon enough!

That's cool. Unless it can make it here by thursday, I'm in no hurry

I've been lookin at jazz guitar-ing a lot lately, since it's probably what I'm gonna have to spend some time with while I'm in uni. I guess the general trend is THE guitar to have is any archtop that costs over 15k. :\ To my untrained jazz ears, it sounds like I could put on a strat in the neck (Maybe a humbucker), roll off the tone a chunk and give it some pop-y compressoin. :B

You really want to get rid of that dan-echo, eh? I'm hoping you're getting more than a silly monkey for that thing, because 95=/=25 ! >_<

Oh wow. How much trouble would it be to just redo the wiring? Because obviously there was some trouble from before Worse comes to worse you throw in a new 3PDT and I find a couple extra bucks for you Everything sounds cool though

Yeah, I'd be down with maybe doing some sort of a trade if you've got a volume pedal, wah and a delay. I'm not proposing anything, but if you'd ever want some time with it (or know anybody who needs probably one of the most versatile budget multi-fx used) then just let me know I'm still gonna need it until I get an actual audio interface, though.

So aside from going deaf, I only need to fear speaker rippage and tube explodage? Both of which can (and will) be replaced?

That's cool If I get that monkey... the rp isn't gonna have much room to stay.. uh, literally :B

I think I'm bringing the muff to school tomorrow to do some screaming

Dude, if you've got money in the paypal, just pay through that, since I'm paying you back for it anyways in cash. Just another month or so til you can ask yer mom to put in that hundred bucks I'm sending over to you That's how you've been handling it, right?

Yeah, I'll work around with that decay. If it's an actual noise gate, the crazy volume/gain should compensate for ... decrease in sensitivity? I remember fiddling around with my rp. I'd set it to a big mesa amp or jcm stack or something, have the gain cranked and put an '808 distortion' on with also more gain. The result was constant screaming and screeching :B (this is through headphones, by the way) and I'd turn on the noise gate and put it on really strong. I could squeeze days of sustain out of that thing, but when it dropped out, it fell hard, rather than slowly fading away. Hopefully I could get that with the muff too

I'm scared to do it again though. Is 5 watts too little to push out that much sound? Worse thing that could happen is I blow out the tubes, right? Or could I go so far as to frying the good stuff in the amp, as well? Tearing the speaker is a given if I give it too much abuse, too, right?
