I purchased a alesis 3630 compressor/limiter about a year ago to use in my guitar rig but I still have yet to use it. The main reason I purchased it was to compress the signal for more sustain but when I got it all hooked up I found it compressed the signal so much that it didnt sound right it sounded too compressed if you know what I mean. Now it's just sitting in my rack taking up space, I was recently on the dream theater website and found that john petrucci uses on in his rig so that gave me renewed hope that maybe I can still use mine. The other components I am using in my rig is a digitech TSR24 true stereo reverb multiFX processor, a lexicon MX200 dual reverb multiFX processor and a BBE862 sonic maximizer. The reason why I have 2 processors is because I use 2 amps and each one is hooked up to a separate processor. So if anyone can offer any advise as to how I can use the compressor/limiter in my rig it would be most appretiated.

Hey can someone help me? I have a marshall JCM 2000 and I need some advise as to what kind of preamp tubes I should put in it that will give it more gain and OD. Any sugestions anybody can offer would be most welcome.
