dear times-new-omen: (from 2004) The 2012 Fender Custom Vibrolux Reverb.......as of Dec2012; has 5 12Ax7's, 1 12AT7, & 2 6L6's in a two-ten combo. It is a noisy amp......(speakers in ALL COMBO AMPS bounce sound off of tubes creating noise like rattling bb's in a mason jar.).... the question of natural "break" being better in this model vs other Fender Amps... Any 40 watt tube amp cranked (Lord Bless Your Neighbors)...will crank out vintage tone..... THE VIBRATO ALONE is what "VOICES" this amp to stand out in the crowd. Think of it this way.... A VIBROKING is $4000, a Vibrolux is $1000. same amp, different speakers, different wattage..... because you can enjoy VIBROKING TONES at half the volume, 3rd the price .... vibrolux wins. If you want to fix the "bb ball bearing, clangy noise; contact
