The clean layout looks really, really nice. Lots of white space to relax the eyes.

And I am LOVING the bigger rig images. Very nice there.

The search...doesn't work so well. At least, I can't use it find rigs. And the pedal results, like this one for the CP-9, don't show users like it used to with links to their rigs. That correlation was a winning feature for the GG DB. Losing that information is a real shame.

yeah, it absolutely looks great! nice job on updating/streamlining the page.

I must admit, that i'm with iaresee when it comes to linking up the users of pedals and such. The tags at the bottom of a given rig are a nice touch, but based on how specific the tag is, clicking on one just gives me a big picture of it, or possibly even less. That's alright, but it would be great to get those old user links attached to them.

In any case, the long and short is that I'm very impressed with the new look of the site, with a couple small provisos.

Totally agreed on the search function comments guys. Good thing is, the old database is still intact; I just need to figure out how to integrate the two (or refine the current one). Time to brush up on some coding

I'm happy to hear that data hasn't be lost. This is going to end up as a very kick ass site overhaul.

Hello everybody. My name JC and I'm new in this site. I hope to make new friends here and learn more about guitargeek.

Cosmetically it's a great improvement - larger text, plenty of easy-on-the-eyes whitespace and generally in line with how twenty-teen (do decades not have official names now that we're into the 21st century?) sites look. I guess screen resolutions have increased since the site was last designed, so it looks much better on my current monitor. I definitely approve of the larger rig photos too - can't wait to see how the older archived stuff looks when it's updated...no small job, I'll wager.

Are there any plans to change the layout or 'skin' of the forum in line with the main site? Apparently VBulletin is a bit of a pain to code in that area though, so yeah.

Glad you like the new vibe of the site. The new rigs to go online are all current (Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Guided by Voices, Stooges, etc) and/or older heavy-hitters (Dime, Slash, Metallica, Beck, ZZ-Top, Slayer, etc). I'm excited to show off these in the larger format.

The forum look will change soon too. Yeah, it's a bit of a pain to skin but I'll make it happen. Expect less blue

As a web designer myself I've a few critiques. But overall, this is a very welcomed and well executed update. The larger rigs pics are great. I'm hoping we'll see a more frequently updated rig database in the future?

I got the Email on the new site so I went to GuitarGeek.com from the Email, but then it wouldnt accept my old ID and old password, so I re-registered. Then when I went to over to Forum I found my old stuff. Im registered at GuitarGeek.com under the same ID as at GeekChat. Weird. Cool site tho...
