Rolling Stones ("Paint it Black" anyone?), Blue Oyster Cult ("Don't Fear the Reaper," remember your cowbell), Tom Petty ("Runnin' Down a Dream").

Doors would be a good route to go. i'm a baritone myself and my voice fits perfectly in Jim Morrison's range.

and yea, let me tell ya, as a baritone its hard to find your range in certain situations. but it does make your vocals kind of a specialty, which is pretty cool. i don't suppose Type O Negative count as classic rock?

ooo, certain David Bowie songs too.

Some Classic Rock radio stations play Pearl Jam, and Eddie Vedder has a deep voice, look into them.

james teh OG, are you a Baritone or a Bass? There is a differance. Baritone is right in between a Bass and Tenor voicing, bass 1 is lower than a Baritone, and Bass 2 is lower than that. Conversely, Tenor 2 is just above Baritone, and Tenor 1 is around Brandon Boyd range (granted my cousin, who knows her vocal stuff, claims he might be an Alto 2)

ok, just wanted to make sure (in other words, I just recently learned that, and wanted to brag about my new-found knowledge) Yea, I have a baritone/tenor speaking voice, but a bass singing voice. My friend Ben is the opposite, a bass speaking voice and a Baritone/high Bass singing voice

weird thing is i'm surprisingly good at doing falsetto. i can sing "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" perfectly. in fact i've been interested in voice acting and i specialize in weird kitchy characters with particularly squeaky voices (Mr. Hankey and Towelie come to mind).

My falsetto is really strong too, I am always singing pop songs by female singers in the correct register for fun, that and Journey/early Michael Jackson

I just admited a guilty pleasure there

Newer Bowie has some killer baritone singing. "Slow Burn" is probably one of my favourite vocal performances ever.

I'm probably a tenor 2 to tenor 1 myself. I have two octaves before falsetto and just under an octave in falsetto, but it sounds crap, so I don't use it.

The best falsetto usually comes from Bass 2's.

Im tenor 1, and can sing some soprano 1 parts in just a head voice.

Brandon Boyds voice isnt that high is it? I doubt he's an alto.

I dont know much about this stuff but the way 've heard it is that baratone is the most common male voice. And I cant keep up with most high singers so I guess I'm a baratone, I can sing most incubus songs apart from a few with notes just out of my range. Apparantly you KNOW if youre a bass, people will comment on your speaking voice.

His high end seems to get higher on each new album.

When I was in high school, before I worked on my range, I used to do a lot of Bob Seger. For people in high school the Silver Bullet Band should qualify wall as "Classic Rock" and his bluesy style works well as a growl and/or punked up.

Definately, that was my first thought when I saw the title.

Or maybe Swlabr by Cream, there's not much high on Clapton's voice there.

This Flight Tonight by Nazerath is a great track and isn't particularly high.

Or look at some of the live versions of Zep's stuff, Plant never realy strained his voice with the realy realy high vocals on tour as much as he did on the records.
