Put a 'volume kit' on your volume pot so that all the treble doesn't leak out when you drop the volume. Still be a bit crunchy but nice and fat with that HotRail kick. PAF it will not be but in a Duncan Quarter Pound territory with a lot of juice on tap and still noise cancelling.

A parallel switch will just kill the dynamics of the HotRail (i.e. flat and boring).
