Replacing Gibson Tuning Pegs

Hello again, it's been a while since I posted in any of these forums, but with the advice I got in This thread, I chose not to replace the stock tuners on my Squier Strat, and it worked out great. With only 2 screws holding on the floating bridge, the stock tuners keep it in great tune, even after giving it a real beating with the whammy bar. Thanks to all who replied.

My question this time is about the Vintage "Gibson Deluxe" Machine Heads that were stock on my Raw Power SG Special. It seems that they don't do a very good job at all of keeping this guitar in tune. At first I thought it might be the way I wind my strings, but none of my other guitars (which all have different nickel tuners) go out this badly, even after one song.

I would like to know if anyone else on this forum who has a Gibson (or any guitar with Gibson Deluxe Vintage Pearloid Machine Heads) has this problem, if they replaced them, and if so, what brand of machine heads di they turn to (no pun intended). I've heard lots about Gibson owners using Grover brand tuners, but I know that Schaller and Gotoh ones are supposed to be pretty good, and even Gibson makes gold and nickel plated ones too. Would appreciate as much advice as I can get.

I was initially concerned about resale value in replacing these, but right now, tuning stability is more important. Also, if I get locking tuners, I've also considered getting a TP-6 fine tuning tailpiece. Anyone else on this forum use one of these?
