amp mod possible???
not sure if this is the right place to post this but what i want to do is bypass my amps front end to go right to the power amp section.
this might be clearer: i want to be able to put my PODxt Live right to the power amp (with a 1/4" jack) to get the true tone of the modeler without having my amp coloring the tone. so basically like a second input to the power amp section. but i still would like my amp to be fully functional through the origianl input jack without the POD setup. Anyone know if this is possible? P.S. My amp is a Marshall G30R CD combo if that helps. |

does your amp have a preamp in or an effects loop?
what you can do, and this will require buying more gear, is put your pod into the RETURN jack of your effects loop. sit it on top of the marshall, and plug into the pod. bypassing your preamp. if no effects loop, if you have a preamp in jack, that works too. now, to run both, i think it's possible with an a/b switch. a into input of amp. b into input of pod. switch between the two. this should work. but i dont have any amps with effects loops. this is just recycled knowledge regurgitated through my own minuscule brain.

no effects loop or preamp in, that's why i figured it would have be a mod. i should probably just save up for a new amp anyway, thanks for your suggestion though.
