My tuning peg is not working.

The tuner for the high e string on my jazzmaster has suddently become loose. It does not let the string stay on as i'm tuning because it unravels the string when enough tension is put on it. Is there anything i can do to fix the tuner, or do I have to buy a new set?

I think you just need to tighten a flat screw in the knob. If there is one.

Sorry dude... looks like you'll have to buy a new set. Chances are the gears inside the tuner have been stripped, or something similar.

Whatever you do, don't skimp, make sure you buy a good set. I personally love Sperzel Locking Tuners, but your mileage may vary.
