oxidation!
so, I have an Ibanez RG321MH. It's tuners, the bridge and the metal surrounding the pickups are kinda oxidated due to the guitar being out of the bag for some...years. Despite the ugly look can I keep the guitar like this (assuming I'm storing it properly now)? Or is this going to screw up the guitar? Thanks.

SO long as you now keep the instrument dry. The oxidation is probably preventing further damage. Depends on type of metal and extent but cleaning it off will probably just promote further corrosion.

OK using chromed steel as an example:
If you have rust it means the chrome has been penetrated. If you clean it off you now have cracked chrome and exposed steel that still has at least some small amount of rust. This will just regrow and push the chrome further off. Unless you completely clean the surface back to bare metal and then oil it it will just get rusty again. Hope this makes it clearer. Rust is unfortunately a bad thing
