Voodoo Lab Pedal Switcher

I am considering buying this switcher to make each switchs between clean and dirty loops along with a delay and reverb loop that I am currently using for leads.

I was just wondering though does the unit allow you have the effects in order still, for example delaying the distortion or compressing the modulation or does it run each loop as a kind of parallel?

This might be a bit of a stupid question but could some clear that up for me???

The effects stay in the order you initially set them up in.

The advantage/benefit of this product is, when you want the pedal off, you switch it out of the signal path completely using the true-bypass loops in the Voodoo Labs product.

In normal effects chains, unless a pedal is true-bypass, your signal is being loaded down (i.e. loss of treble, output, clarity) by the electronics in the pedal - even when the effect is off. It sounds like you don't have a big setup, so you might not be loaded down as much as you might think. But using this product as your switching unit can't hurt. As an added bonus, when all the effects are off, your guitar will sound like it's plugged - effect free - right into the amp. Zing!

Also, the effects hooked up to the Pedal Switcher should stay on all the time, and all switching on/off should be done, swiftly, not swishy, at the Switcher.

The GCX does EVERYTHING
Channel switching, Amp selecting, effect switching, anything
but to answer your question, it runs everything almost like a serial loop you could say
so you go into the first loop, if the loop is active goes to that pedal, if its not, it goes to loop two, ect ect
if you want to use the effects loop of your amp as well, you take the output from a loop, that goes to the in on your amp, the effects send goes into the input of a loop, run as many loops as you need, then run the out from the last loop into the effects return
if that made no sense, here:

I would suggest that you look into the carl martin octo-switch. In my opinion, it is a better product and can handle more pedals. I own the combinator and I'm thinking of switching up.

I've built a few pedalboards with the voodoo labs switcher and although the idea would be nice, they still need to develop the product a little more in my opinion for only one reason:
Popping when switching. It's so bad that it makes them useless. I'm not sure if the carl martin is any better. Hopefully they get it sorted out soon because i think they have great potential in this product... I mean, basically if the popping were gone, I would probably buy one. :-)

I do pedal mods. I build amps. You should get one built for you.
If it's too loud, you're too old.

And here's all my gear.

And my band

When used in combination with the Voodoo Lab Commander, the pedal switcher gains a ton on functionality. Without it, it's basically just a true bypass strip. I would second the Octa-Switch for price and functionality.

There are a few products like the GCX that are more expensive, but do a whole lot more. I have a MusicomLab Efx MkII (pics in my rig thread). it does nearly everything the GCX does, but fits on a pedal board in the space of about 2 1/2 standard size pedals.

Silly Question

Okay, so I love what you've built as a pedal board and I've had the same idea of adding 1/4 jacks along with a power jack for an extension cord. My question is, where did you get that wicked socket? I can't seem to find one anywhere. It is exactly what I had in mind!

I assume you are referring to me... The 1/4 inch panel mounts I picked up off of ebay from speakerrepair (seller). The AC inlet I got from a local electronics supply called Ace Electronics. They have a website, but I don't think it's listed on the site.
