Line6 Guitar Port

I recently purchased a line6 guitar port and want to know if this can be used as a USB audio interface to hook it up to other devices such as a mixing board to record rough **** of my band. The guy at Long & McQuade said that it will only work with the line6 programs, but there should be ways around that. Such as me using my SB Audigy 2 Platinum to hook up my guitar to and use Guitar Rig 2 software, and that works pretty good so far.

The guy is probably wrong. As far as I know all you have to do is select the guitar port as the recording device in the program. Try it with a free recording program like audacity. You could use it with a mixer but unfortunately you're only going to get a mono signal.
