Big Muff volume drop

I've been experiencing a rather noticable volume drop when I engage my Big Muff, even when the volume on it is all the way up. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks.

No, nobody, it's running on an adaptor. That would be my first thought, too, but no dice.

Is it a USA reissue?
Would you consider selling it?

I did experience this a little bit with my old amp. But on band practises I turned it all the way up and it wasn't very noticeable. But when we gigged, it was very annoying. The amp that you use with your big muff is very important. A lot of amps don't really go with the big muff. But When I got my Fender Twin Reverb and also a compressor (that might help you) I have the volume knob at around 1 o'clock. And the big muff offers the best distortion sound in the world to my ears.

ive got a newer nyc muff, and ive never had any problems like that. it has lots and lots of gain, enough to boost the signal. perhaps its a wiring malfunction, or something... i noticed with my small stone though that when i first turn it on it takes a few seconds to "juice up" before the effect starts (filling capacitors or warming up, i dunno); maybe your model of the muff does a similar thing.

Oh damn, shipping would be a bitch. I'd probably be better off finding one state-side. Nevermind.

put an overdrive or boost before it. sounds much better that way. and use the muff to just cream up the distortion..
or a compressor after it.

from what i can remember, it's usually something like this:
les paul classic w/jeff beck pickup in bridge / 70s ibanez archtop / taylor acoustic > ernie ball volume > (tuner out) TU-12 / (main out) > trex compressor > schumann PLL w/momentary switch > marshall jackhammer JH-1 > line 6 DL-4 delay > memory man deluxe > keeley modded crybaby wah > zvexx fuzz probe > vox v847 wah > green 70s big muff pi > yamaha rex50 > electrix repeater > holy grail > boss stereo volume > vox ac30 tbx

i have both a russian big muff and a USA reissue big muff, and i've never had that sort of thing at all. try to contact electro-harmonix, i bet they can give you some answers. the big muff kicks so much ass...don't give up on it.
