boss RC-20

i bought this from a friend of mine for $150. i really want an akai sampler but hey it was there and it was cheap. anyways, by sampling tons of layers of distorted guitars with loads of echo and then reversing it (one of the only good features) i can get this insane wall of sound, very similar to my bloody valentine. i know it cheesy to rip people of, but this is great fun. but all and all, the boss rc-20 sucks!

Maybe that is because it is a phrase sampler and not a dedicated sampler. Also, the price difference between a RC-20 and a akai is huge. Ands they have different application in my mind.

I don't know, I used to hate my RC-20, now I love it. I think it is great fun and a awesome songwriting tool. And it is the pedal looper that can save loops. Hell, even the Digital echoplex can do that.(The only others that can and allow the loop to be loaded are teh Digitech GNX-3 and the Zoom 707 player II(which doesn't allow overdubs).

The Electrix Repeater has the CF interface.

You're not forgiven until you get an EDP.

can't you save entire loops and call them up at the press of a button ?

that'd be nice for live use, but i think i'll hold on to my dd20 when it arrives : )

Check out the EDP
http://www.gibsonechoplex.com/

Blows ever other looper away as far as features, ease of use and versatility.

I can't imagine looping without one.

Turn of the knob actually. But I don't see getting much use out of storing loops except maybe for recording. I like live looping, where the loops are created on the fly, that way you're not stuck with the same tempo time after time. Plus, I have a philosophical objection to using pre-recorded music in live shows.

I use it to store the foundation of songs live. I find it really useful for that. I continue to add to it(the loop) while playing live though.

I also one ever play like 2 songs a set, and usually the lyrics begin at the same time as the music in my tracks, so it makes life easier.
