Broke my AD-9?
I have an Ibanez AD-9 (reissue) that I love and worked just fine until one day I decided to mess with the trimpots. I turned one of these trimpots too far (I think it was the bias trimpot, it was a 10K) and it broke.
So I bought a new 10k trimpot and put it in there, but the delay is, well, pretty screwed up. The light still comes on but the effect is noticeably softer, and no matter how I mess with the other trimpots I can't get it to sound right. Anyone know what I might have fried? If any of you fix stuff like this I'd love to pay you to...please reply or PM me. Thanks... |

Welcome to the forums.
How's your solder job? any cold joints/burnt traces maybe? Also, are there any wires loose?

I think that the soldering is okay. I've checked it / re-soldered the new trimpot and it all seems to be okay.
Is there any chance (since the pedal was on when I broke the trimpot) that I fried a transistor or something? (I'm not too knowledgable about what it would take to do this, but maybe if the resistor went the transistor would go as well?) Thanks for the welcome. |
