When I look at stuff on ebay a lot of the time it says 'add 5% charge if using PayPal'. Now I've bought quite a bit of stuff using PayPal from ebay users that don't charge an extra 5%. But I've never sold anything on ebay and hence I don't understand why some people will add 5% of the final auction cost if you buy with PayPal.

Sellers that have PayPal premier and business accounts are charged 2.2%-2.9% + 30 cents each time they accept money. I've never charged anyone extra for sending me PayPal because the benefit of instant money is worth the 2.9% and 30 cents.
