DL-4 Mods

I've known a lot of people who have had trouble with their DL-4's crapping out...weather it be the cruddy switches screwing up or the expensive power pack going out

A friend of mine recently started modding them...

He fitted mine with better switches,
blue and pink LED's

BUT, he also does the tone/volume mod like keeley does
as well as powder coat jobs on them

$45-Powder coating (unscratchable)
$20 for any color LEDs
$35 for better switches
$25 volume Mod

Here's some pictures of the powder coatings, new LED's as well as the new switches

He's based out of Fort Worth TX...and I'm not sure how he handles out of state shipping, but if anyone in area needs their DL-4 modded or repaired...let me know and I'll get you in contact with him...

as for the crappy power packs...i've ditched mine for a godlyke adapter...you can find them on ebay for around $3....there may be a small bit of volume difference, but i have barely noticed it...

i've heard the fidelity mod that keeley does on the dl-4 's is quite intensive labour wise and isn't all that noticeable after the fact except to audiophiles. the different LED's are fun but isn't that mind blowing. what kind of prices is your friend charging claiming keeley like mods?

I know there are tons of people on this forum who could replace their own LED's and switches...so I'm not claiming anything spectacularly original...just putting it out there for anyone who was interested and doesn't necessarily have the know how

Personally, I don't really care about the "keeley" mod for DL-4's...like you said, it's for audiophiles...and I don't know if it's an identical mod...he just told me he does one...could be though. I can ask

but here's the prices
$45-Powder coating (unscratchable)
$20 for any color LEDs
$35 for better switches
$25 volume Mod

if you don't care about your LED colors or repainting (powder) the pedal itself...the switch replacement is pretty nice...It's changed the way I use the pedal...so much more easy to play with... but if you can replace your own switches, more power to ya...just putting the option out there

Does this guy post under "drasp" on Harmony Central? If so, this guy has a great following over there and I'd go to him if my DL4 ate dust.
