I like to set mine in a slight frown boosting the mids. This really helps to cut through the mix. Especially playing with a bass player.

are we strictly talking about eq pedals? if not on my orange i put the bass n mids at 1 oclock n treble at high noon. You have to take count for the fact that i use a treble booster too tho.

A very squashed M if you can imagine it.

Boosting 200 and 1.6 and 3.2 slightly

Cutting 400 and 800 slightly

100 and 6.4 at 0.

Thats with my sniper GE-7.

You said not specific, but what I do isn't as simple as boost mids or scoop mids.

it all depends on what kind of stuff I'm playing, and if I'm playing guitar or keyboards, and if on guitar my neck pickup or my bridge pickup. Heres a simple little list on what I like with my MXR Ten Band:

Guitar I like:

Neck PUP: More umph on the treble side, treble-mids all the way, little hills and valleys on the bass.

Bridge PUP: Mids all up, bass about 3/4 and a little boost/cut alternating on the treble side

Keyboard: Bass and bass-mids boosted and cut the treble like hell. Damn keyboards are treble-y
