Ge-7

ok so ive been using my sd-1 infront of my tiny terror as a boost and its just not cutting it...not enough level! is there a mod I can do to improve this?!

im also looking at a Ge-7 but a few questions....1/how noisey is it? 2/ how hard is it to mod to stop the noise?

im using it as a boost for solos

cheers

Dan

If you want, check out the dod fx40c. It has 18db of boost/cut and is pretty quiet. That's 6 more dbs than the ge-7. It's cheaper too. Can't say much about modding it though, the sniper mod was very popular but is no longer available from the source.

Behringer EQ pedal is cheap as chips, has no noise and has an overall volume boost. Sounds great tooo running into my tube amp. Try it out if you see one, you'll be pleasantly surprised

There are some ways to add some volume to your SD-1 but I must say it'll change the tone.......

I personally find the GE-7 a magical pedal that can do wonders! I simply love mine (although I must admit I never use mine anymore on guitar......; I've got my tone On bass I use it a lot!)..... it can be quite noisy but so are the others; it is all dependent on which bands you push. Part of that noise is from the pedal, part is not from the pedal but from other sources; as you push the 'noise' frequencies you'll hear em better!

The pedal can be improved in tone and noise. It involves in replacing low quality caps with better quality caps next to some opamp changes.
