Help me out with a A/B Selector

Ok here is the deal, I want to run a A/B in my set up, ideally im going to be running a Fender Deville for my clean tones and a JCM 800 for my dirty, and I totally understand running the A/B to too different amps.

But this weekend I have a show and I will only have the JCM 800, and I hate the line 6 DM - 4 for my dirty sounds, its just horrible. Anyway can i just use the A/B for channel switching my JCM? one line to low and one to high?

The rest of effects should run perfectly through it right?

Anyway just asking, im just starting to aquire more tech goods for my rig and im just trying to get it right.

Any A/B boxes you may recommend?

Running an AB like that should work but, I'm not 100% sure. Maybe someone else will chime in on that subject.
