I got a Vintage Mxr Distortion +!!!!!

First I have to say this pedal kicks so much ass, it will be my main distortion. Now to the story. My uncles play guitar and have old pedals they don't really use, or are broken and I have borrowed and been given a few pedals from them before, he said he had a dist + that was broken, I asked if I could have it, he was hesitant, but I said I would trade one of my pedals for it, I have a few for sale I don't want anymore. But anyway we traded, his dist+ for my morley bad horsie. It took me many hours, but after soldering many broken wires and eventually getting a new op amp, the pedal is fixed and works great. I just wanted to share this with everyone and say this pedal is so good, so warm and clear and really lets the dynamics of my playing through. I was wondering also if chaning the op amp would make a difference on the sound of the pedal, if so how much of a difference?

P.S. The pedal has a smooth finish and a block logo, and I think the date is 1978 from information I have read here and other places.

Thanks, I have yet to try any other vintage mxr's, but I am going to start looking into them more. What do you mean by fuzzy?
