hopefully i'll be able to sell my juno 106 synth in a local shop tomorrow, and if i get anything near what i'm asking (i should, i'm asking much less than ebay) i'll have some nice pedal options.
i'm seriously considering these: DOD fx90 = typically $50, good reviews- (i'll try to get one with the white lettering on the left side, those self-oscillate) HOLOWON = spacematic warmer tremolo (this one is a definite) BOSS GE-7 = i want an am radio station sound, and a slightly more mid-ranged clean sound. then i suppose i'll consider either a HOLOWON static egg fuzz or an 80s Marshall Shredmaster... probably the fuzz since i think the shredmaster would give me rat-like feedback, which i cannot use ! so in the end, i think this is what i want/need- any opinions? i know there are players that are into similar styles of music (indie/IDM/ambience) with somewhat-similar tastes in pedals--- i'd very much appreciate those peoples' help ! [after reading every review on harmonycentral, it sounds like a better idea to get a DOD fx90 (or two!) rather than saving for a BOSS DM-3 --- i already have pristine delay with my RV-3, i want something fuzzy and out of control.]

I just picked up a GE-7 this weekend.
All I can say is I would have saved a lot of money on distortion pedals over the years if I would have bought it a long time ago. It's nice to be able to boost the frequencies that my pedal seems to kill, and its nice to roll off the harshness of the bridge pickup in my strat a tiny bit.

Re: like players, help me temporarily finish my rig-

which is mentined I believe int he HC reviews. Get 2. You will want 2.I would think maybe a different fuzz, the static egg is limited. Try a zoom ultra fuzz or, if you have major coin, a fuzz facory or some of the effector 13 stuff off this board(really neat stuff). Are you still getting a line 6?

hmm...in reference to the line 6, PROBABLY not right now...
i think my other guitarist will probably be getting one, and if he does i definitely want to get some other sounds- i tend to think in terms of my band over my own stuff, since i don't play as a looping solo player anymore- i still will probably try and get the dl4 one day, but i think it might be more fun and better overall to get a couple of different boxes now that i've grown to be more useful with effects- i could've had all these boxes a few years ago and it still would've probably sounded only 1/2way decent. maybe i will get two fx90s... you have to get the ones with the lettering on the left side - the other ones don't self-oscillate (according to a lot of harmonycentral reviews). i'd much rather have two awesome lo-fi analog delays rather than one decent dm-2 or dm-3 i paid too much for. do you really think the zoom ultra fuzz has more range and control than the static egg ??? i mean i've heard great things about that whole line, but zoom ?? my first pedal was a 505...haha. just reassure me on this one- i bet i could find one semi-cheap on ebay. lastly, i just really hope the ge-7 is as good as everyone seems to think- i used to have a boss compressor that turned my sound into total ****- --i know comrpessors and EQs are different, but i just fear the nasal thin screech tone... i play a tele for christsakes, i love the twang but i don't need any more !

what the hell ???
i just looked on ebay, and only saw one zoom fuzz- this is it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=41416 i remember when the damn things were $100, then reduced to like $60 in shops around here ! wtf... if anyone can help me find a reasonably priced (cheap) one, please let me know ! (strat, typical price for a dod is under $70) and hey fiveways, why will i necessarily want 2 dod fx90s ???

yo pres,
dod are reputable for their excellent analog delays, so the fx90 sounds good. the 90, 96, 585 (A) (B), and if you're really lucky 680 are all wonderful. i'm gonna research some holowon stuff. never heard of them before. i'm looking for a trem, too. (trem two... yeah) don't know about the static fuzz. what would actually impress me a lot is if someone made a pedal that one side would be like a Big Muff with a little more "ooomph" and the other side would be like the a boosted section of a fender blender... that would be something i would suggest, but i don't know anyone who makes that. good luck on the juno deal. |

I love having 2 analog delays in my rig, Just one short and one for massive atmosphere. I find it works better with analog delays to have 2 just because you can get a in-between generic setting for a medium delay. it is always short of long. That guy in th auction is drunk. But they are AWESOME pedals. So much range.....and they are just starting to catch on. Soon I think $225 might be the average price for them.

****. i hate overpriced gear.
the reason the static egg looked good was b/c its true bypass, not mass-produced, and if everything is cranked it can get a square wave synth type of sound... i will keep looking for a zoom ultra fuzz, but damn, so far i'm only finding dead links- only a trace of its existence- it seems too modern... fiveways, if i happen to get a dod fx90 (or two) that don't self-oscillate, i'll come to you- cursivescript, the thing i'm looking forward to the most is the tremolo, his sounds really great- you can differentiate b/w harsh and smooth- very slow settings and very fast settings - its wicked neat. trem two... i'll put that on... i think i'll go with holowon anyway b/c i love the soundclips, the maker is very courteous ( a la keeley, effector 13 guy, etc) the boxes look rad as ice, and he's very flexible if you tell him what you're going for- i think those 4 pedal additions may help me conquer everyone's face.

i feel ya with the overpriced sentiment. and that trem looks really nice. he even let's the buyer choose the color... that's gonna be hard. it sounds kinda ghey, but i'm thinking another pink pedal would look good on my floor.
just wondering, but what color are you thinking of putting, pres. |

haha man ! this is gonna sound like total a$$-kissing, but i just e-mailed him a little while ago and asked if i could get a light pink one! (and an orange static egg)-
weird! i dunno what it is, i just like pink pedals... i swear, i had a totally happy childhood. pink and orange are my fave colours for pedals- bill at holowon is probably gonna think we're ordering them for our girlfriends or something- oh well, he's rad. maybe its just b/c my other pedals are green and black and grey. i like for the stuff to draw attention to my eye- anyway, i'm glad the warmer's LED blinks to the speed of the trem, that'll help out in a live situation- script, if i'm ever in Fl. or vice versa, we're doing a side project based on the foundations of pure rock.

finally, someone who understands the idea of pink pedals.
boss dc-3, ibanez session-man, frantone cream puff... these pedals are great, and they look great. if i had some extra cash, i'd say we should order exact trems at the same time. that would be hella strange for him. if you hit fl. man, mos def. mos def. |

i love many pedals, but i do think my favorite-looking pedal is the frantone cream puff-
when i saw that thing i thought "holy damn, what style! what grace! beautifullllllll...." we should try and see if he'll label the pedals something other than 'spacematic warmer'- the guy would flip out thinking 'who are these people?' ------ oh yeah, the boss hf-2 high band flanger is pink and white- i guess thats why i've always wanted one, and i don't like flange much...at all. the proco brat is pink, but its the ugliest thing i've ever seen. (and the ugliest sounding proco ever).
