Lowered Output?
I'm not sure if I'm either crazy or can't remember what this pedal used to sound like, but here goes. Has anyone ever had a pedal that at some point in time experiences a loss of output? As in the overall volume of the pedal being significantly less than usual?
I might be wrong but I swear my MXR blue box used to have way more balls. I usually just use it on the clean channel of the amp because of the fuzz effect, but now when it's clicked on it's not at all comparable to the sound of the drive channels (with the pedal bypassed on the drive channels). This seems strange because it should be right up there if the channel volumes are about both the same. |

Are you powering it with a battery or AC adapter? It might be that you're just not getting enough power to it. I know I had an issue with a distortion pedal once like that. Have you changed anything in your rig since you remember it being more ballsy?

I've been using a DC adaptor pretty much since I've had it

Plug directly into the amp with just the blue box, both with adapter and with battery. See if there are any differences.
It might just not like where it is in the chain in relation to buffer/tb bypass stuff. So start by isolating it completely. A fresh battery is also your friend at this point as it works as a completely isolated power supply, it can't pick up noise and it won't be interfered with by anything else. Batteries and isolation are always the first 2 techniques to use when troubleshooting a pedal. Beyond that, bluebox mods.
