moog phase questions

i have a couple questions about the moogerfooger phase

1: can you control the sweep of the phase with an expression pedal?
2a: is it worth it? $300 for a pedal is kind of pushing it for me
b: should i get a pretty good guitar -or- a kick ass phaser

1: Yes, along with other functions (multiple expressionpedal inputs)
2a: Yes, but it is pushing it (it's a Moog and it's very well built w. a lot of functions though)
2b: That's up to you I guess... I like my Small Stone/Boss PH-1r just the same, but a Moog would definatly rock!

You could get a few other phasers for $300 total and have a bit more tonal variety to choose from. I don't know if I'm recommending that, but it's a thought.

get the moog. you can control the sweep with an expression pedal. it beats the standards (small stone/phase 90) out of the water.

Do you have some clips to demonstrate that? The Moog clips just demonstrate that the thing has (possibly too much) bass. It's definitely rich sounding. I just wonder if it might be lacking a bit in the high end (which is important for guitar).

Btw, what a beautifully distressed Mistress you have.

The guitars that you already have are nicer than pretty much any guitar that you could get for $300, so either get the mog, or just put the money away in a fund so that you can save for your dream telecaster......

300 dollars for a phaser? this phaser better damned flexible or interesting, IMO... and unfortunately, to me the moog is neither.

with 300, i'd buy a couple phasers of different qualities and then look into adding expression jacks... or i'd just say **** it and grab a 4ms
