Question Need some suggestions for an overdrive.

I want some suggestions for a really versatile overdrive, i recently bought a Zvex fuzz factory, i am very happy with it being the last fuzz i'll ever have to buy. Now i am wondering what could be the only overdrive i'll ever have to buy.

i think that maybe a fulltone ocd would be what you're looking for. if you have no price limit, check out a klon centaur.

Nice guitar. I have the same one. I also have a Big Muff and used to own a Vector Fuzz Factory. I find the pickups in my guitar to be far too weak... How do you like the Pro Jet with the Fuzz Factory?

Depends on what you are looking for.

If you want to use with other dirts to get a nice solo tone, you might need a mid boost to cut trough, then Tube Screamer family, this apply for the Fulltone OCD too.

If you want for slightly dirty rhythms (I do) then a transparent one like the Vox 810 (I believe its called that way) or even the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver.

If you just want to push your amp then a booster could work, EHX LPB-2, MXR Micro Amp or else.

Love it.

I was kind of hoping someone knew of a pedal that could give a good rhythm tone, but could also be used for nice sounding leads. the OCD might be what i'm looking for. Blues driver, might be the best option simply because of price.

If you end up buying any of the Boss Overdrives, I would recommend modding them with the Monte Allums mods.

It made a world of difference to my SD-1...

The Vox v810 is a great overdrive. It's a little more open than the TS series...

MI Audio Blue Boy Deluxe.... gold!
I use t mainly for slightly dirty rhythms and it's fantastic for that. (Rat, Muff and FF for crazier stuff). Even though it's a boutiquey thing it's actually cheaper than a lot of bog standard off the shelf things. It's super versatile, built flawlessly and sounds great... small too!

The question is: Mid boost, or no mid boost? I'd go for the Keeley BD-2. Where in Canada are you BTW? I'm from Ottawa. There are a few others...

Mid boost? Yes. Where in Canada? Southern Ontario.

since you are looking for a midboost then the Tubescreamer (in all its incarnations) would be a perfect fit for you.
The fulldrive is a great pedal but has less 'oomph' then many overdrives imo. they have great transparency but you may find them a little anemic when its time to get some more power out of them; a Tubescreamer will give you more balls so to speak
