Not really stompbox related... but somewhat effect-y... please take a look

ok, here's the deal: in a song of my band we have a spoken part taken from a movie during a noise break. in the studio it was pretty simple: we took the parts from the film and cutp/pasted in the right places, but we haven't find a way to do that live. is there any not-too-complicated way to do that during a show?

Cheap ass sampler, like a boss SP-202 will do the trick.

definitely, that way you can even toss some effects (ring mod, filters) live. great dirt cheap unit. i love mine.

a boss rc-20 could do that, little expensive for using just for what you were talking about, but lots of other possiblities with that unit. i love mine, i have gotten a lot better lately using it for practicing soloing.
