What about "different" pedals?
Where would you put something like the Ibanez LF7? After distortion since it is sort of an EQ? At the end of everything to make it all Lo-Fi? Hmmm.. It'd probably sound swell in all sorts of places.
I have one on the way, so I can't try anything out yet. |

I have a problem with my EQ
This is my Eq: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...ot77/45301a.jpg It sounds great when it's just "GUITAR--->EQ--->AMP" but once I start using my pedal effects.... "GUITAR--->PEDALS--->EQ--->AMP" my whole tone starts to sound bad. I've tried setting up my EQ at different parts of my pedal chain but it always ends up that there's a pedal or two that sounds bad. Can anybody help me out?

Sorry to bring this topic back but I was just wondering what would be a good order for my set up. I haven't really played with changing them around and will when I have some time but some opinions would be good.
My pedals go: Small Stone > Turbo Rat > Big Muff > Holy Grail > Digitech RP 50 > Boss FZ-2 > Frequency Analyzer > Line 6 DL4 I'm thinking of maybe taking the Digitech and the Boss out of the chain, too ... |

Pedal Layout..... HELP !!!!!!
Hi
Ok, I have a lot of pedals, I have set them up in a way that i like, and they sound great... HOWEVER... sometimes i doubt myself, and would really like someone else's opinion on this. One day i love my tone, the next i get bored, the next i rip it all up and start again.. HELP !!!! Ok, here's the setup: Strat Plus with EMG (DG-20) pickup set > Boss NS2 (using effects loop in the boss NS2) > MXR Dynacomp > EH Big Muff > Marshall Guv'nor > Danelectro FAB Distortion > Barber LTD > Boss EQ7 > EH Electric Mistress > Danelectro Cool cat Chorus > MXR Phase 90 > Boss DD3. After all this i have placed a SPF Ego Booster (outside the Boss NS2 loop) then into a volume pedal, then into a Peavey Classic 50 2*12 (with Eurotube supplied JJ tubes). All of the pedals live in a pretty neat pedal board. I am not sure about the placing of the Ego Booster or the DD3, are they better in or out the NS2 loop? Also, what about the amp effects loop? I have never used the effects loop in any amp, i always go straight in the front, going in the effects loop would add another level of complication to my setup i could do without. Anyway.... let me know what you think Joe |

Delay should be out of the NS loop.
Else you'll loose some of the repeats. Everything in that sounds fine to me (the order of them)

Man, pedal order is confusing. When I redesign my board I'll have to play around with order. But a few things first:
1. I've got a BOSS NS-2, should I put that before my delay and reverb? I've just bought (as in bought TODAY) an EHX Holy Grail and I heard they have a bit of noise so I thought an NS-2 would help to eliminate some of that. 2. There's no way I'd put my compression first in my loop... I use it to even out the levels of all my pedals. Would you recommend that I put it after all my wet effects but before my dry effects (eg. delay/reverb)? Ahh... gotta love guitar effects haha. |

Im using an Ibanez TS9 just as a boost for solos.
Should I be running it towards the start or the end of my chain ? thanks |

In the loop (but before any delay you might have) is a good place to start. In front it wont affect any noise from the preamp...

Does putting a wah after a muff make much of a difference?

Alright Pedal order suggestions!
I'm usually good at this but I'm getting a old Ibanez Cp-9 compressor and need some help where to place it. THING IS! No buffered pedals before my soul bender so... this is what I was thinking (* means modded) Guitar-> Budda Wah -> Soul Bender -> Ibanez CP-9 -> ProCo Rat 2* -> Ibanez TS9DX* -> Boss PH2 -> Ibanez DE-7 -> Boss DD-3* -> Dunlop Rotovibe -> Amp Look at my pedals

right now-
Dunlup GCB-80 high gain volume pedal Dunlop 95Q switchless crybaby wah MT-2 Metal Zone (thinking about getting a keeley mod done.) PH-3 Phase Shifter TU-2 Tuner. this goes into the "patch box" that came with my MPS pedal board as the pedal return, my guitar hooks directly into the volume pedal. from there, i run two mono signals from the patch box to a line 6 delay modeler, and return a left and right channel delay, to the effects loop return, and then i have two outputs for amps. If i run only one, i'll run left channel, but i have the option of a sterio split, or simplicity to eliminate a splitter for two amps. |
