Powering up my pedals

I'm rather new to effects and I haven't figured out the best way to power my pedals yet. I did a search for power supply information but I have a few specific questions to ask.

here's my setup -> rat -> uf-01 -> dod fx90 -> pds 1002 -> pds 20/20 -> DL-4 -> amp (I plan on adding 2-3 more effects soon)

The batteries seem to last a long time in the rat, ultra fuzz, and the fx90, and I have a power supply for my dl-4, but I really need to get power supplies for my PDS's. I think they take ac power, but do they require more voltage than most pedals?

Should I just run a power strip and plug my dl-4 and my PDS's into it, and run the rest on batteries? Or should I buy a power supply so I don't have to use batteries for many of my effects?

At the very least, I would like to know what power adapters I can buy for my PDS's.

Thanks

I would suggest the Visual Sound daisy chain and go to a Radio Shack and grab a power supply of 800 ma. I have this powering 6 pedals and it works great. Total cost around 30.00.

Just my opinion

I think MF has a one spot bonus pack of an adapter + daisy chain for around $30. I think they spell it 1 Spot, as I've had trouble finding it before. I don't remember how many mA it is, but you can run multiple daisy chains off of it w/o trouble.

Used a one spot for 2+ years now without complaint. Good and cheap.

what type of plug do they have? the daisy chain is the "normal" barrel plugs (like boss pedals), but has adapters for 1/8" plugs (like the rat) and also 9v clips. (the adapters are extra, but cheap: 2.50/ea, or I'm sure there is a bonus pack). link

The PDS's are 1/8 ones (like my rat). Only two of my pedals have the boss style.

EDIT: I'll probably buy the combo and get a couple extra adapters. It has two adapters included but I'll need more. Thanks for the help.

I daisy chian my 20/20 with all my other pedals. 200mA is fine. I run about 8-10 pedals off a 400mA wall wart including 3 digital delays and an analog one.

Just get a one spot adapter for positive tip 1/8 "electro harmonix" jack.

or you can even go to an electronics store, buy a 2.1mm negative tip jack and replace the one in the PDS. May not be enough room, but I'm sure you could make it work.

I used to run my pds 20/20 from a daisy chain. No problems, no noise.

1 Spot all the way! stay away from noisy transformers.

Plus, the 1 spot daisy chain is the only daisy chain available with RIGHT ANGLE CONNECTORS!

Regulated Power Supplies?

I'm also trying to find the best way to power up the pedals. What about regulated power supplies such as the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 (8 outputs), Dunlop DC-Brick or the T-Rex Fuel Tank? Which one is best?!

It seems that these are the way to go over daisy chains, but which one?

Here's another vote for the Visual Sound 1 Spot! Even if your pedals don't take the standard plugs, you can buy adaptors for like 2 bucks from Musicians Friend.

remember, though.

Some of your pedals will cause noise if powered by the same power supply as others, but will be quiet when powered with a dedicated power supply such as EHX Holy Grail.

This is where you make sure your DC brick and other power supplies of that type are really worth the money or not.....

If the power outputs aren't isolated............ it's NOT worth the money.

If you have the money I've never heard anyone say they didn't like the voodoo labs. I have one and it's worked perfectly and I have a very similar setup (rat,uf-o1,whammy,rv-5,digidelay,dl-4,20/20.)
I don't think the brick will power the DL-4. The one spots will though (I think).
