Question Tremelo options and opinions, please!!

I'm looking for a Tremelo pedal, i would like the tremelo users on this board to give me some help.........
Financially my options are...
1. Marshall Vibratrem
2. Dano Tuna Melt
3. Boss TR-2 (C4 mod. to be carried out)

I know there's way better models available but it wont be a main pedal so i cannot justify boutique prices!

I've read about the Boss TR-2 suffering volume drop but can be remedied by removing the C4 cap. , if i can pick one up off the Bay at a fair price i'd be happy to do this.

I've included the Marshall because of the price and the fact that the "Editors" guitarist gets some good sounds out of his. and the Dano seems to be a "mini" legend!

Opinions please???

You may be able to find a Voodoo Labs one pretty cheap used. Other than that I'd say TR-2, then if you want one day you could get an Analogman mod.

The Electro-Harmonix Pulsar is only 20 dollars more. If you could find one of those on e-bay, that would be my suggestion. I've got one, and I love it

I'll sell you my TR-2. I haven't noticed the volume drop either, it's very slight. Mine's near-mint, sounds great, I just want to get a Fulltone Supa Trem.

Depending on what kind of amp you play and how much money you are willing to spend, I would say check out the Area 51 Tremolo. This unit is installed in your amp and runs off the amp power and comes with an external foot switch. It employs a genuine tube. Sound cool.

The dano is a heckuva pedal.

Indyguitarist has a great mod for the TR2

I would stay away fromt the Marshall.

My own personal reccommendation would be to save a couple more bucks and get the voodoo lab trem.

It sounds great, versatile with the wave form knob and a wide range of speed.

+1 to thr TR-2 i love mine, no volume drop at all

BUT

toughs on the line6 tonecore tap tremolo? to me sounds too digital but is there another tremolo with tap function? i'd love a pedal with the sound of the TR-2 and a tap switch.

i got my diaz tremodillo on ebay for a lot less than they sell for new. i can honestly say it's the best tremolo i've EVER heard. it's a very fender-ish sound with a really nice throbbing vibe. i don't know how much you want to spend, but give it some consideration.

if you can afford it, I'd get ahold of a Pulsar-I've got one and it's great, covers all the bases and has a great vibe...definitely try as many as you can, when I tried the Pulsar I was like, "that's the sound I want"

oh, and if you do try and get a used voodoo lab, stay away from the old two knob version-I had one and it was weak, and there was a noticable volume drop. I understand the newer 4-knob variant is supposed to be great.

I haven't tried the dano, I'd be willing to bet it would work great as well.
