oh man...I use both on my board (both modded)

The BD-2 more transparent, shimmery, goes from a clean boost, od, and distortion. Really killer pedal

TS9 more for lead work and cut in the mix, I use the BD-2 as a slight gain boost and the TS9 on top of that for alot of gain. My TS9 has alot of mojo and soul to it, really thick and just a great great overdrive.

But I say If you need alot of options BD-2

There are many exceptions to this of course, but a lot of people think the TS works better with single coils and the BD-2 works better with humbuckers.

I personally like tubescreamers with humbuckers, but I do think that stock a BD-2 is great with humbuckers but thin and trebly with single coils. There are mods that address this though.

Yes it is a little poor with single coils, and i never use it with my tele. But with humbuckers it is great!

I find that my Keeley-modded TS9 sounds better for lead work due to the accentuated mids and the way it "narrows" the sound.

I also have a Keeley-modded BD-2 which works better for me as a before-the-amp distortion. The BD-2 doesn't color my sound enough for leads.
