Univibe location

where do u guys put your univibe in your chain. for blues i run it after the ts9's...but 2 me it doesn't sound that great before or after them. i dont like the way it sounds when i solo. any suggestions. and is there a better "leslie" pedal effect, short of buying a leslie cab?

I have a Hughes & Kettner Rotosphere at the end of my signal chain, but running before an verdriven amp. Sounds great, and IMO, it's the best leslie sim out there.

I run mine last before the amp. I like it after my overdrives and fuzz, but I didn't like it in my effects loop.

I set mine up with the volume just over 7 (I like it so you can't hear the volume change when you turn it on or off), and with the intesity around 8 (didn't like it above 9 at all) I use an expresson pedal to control the speed, which makes a world of difference to the feel as you can adjust it on the fly to suit your playing and mood. I hate the vibrato mode (orange light) and love the chorus/rotary sim mode (green light).

nice and simple rig! bet the amps sound great when run together... is the univibe different than a rotovibe? and does the vibe part of the word have anything to do with vibrato or are all these pedals made for rotary sounds?

I think the vibe comes from what the effect does....

....it pulses and throbs, with to me, is another way of describing a "Vibe".

I run my Vibe right after my wah and before any gain. I never use it with the Dist+ and rarely with the Overdrive though- but it does sound better this way.

if i wanted to get an effect like srv and alot of other blues players get, can the univibe do that. for example...willie the wimp or cold shot by srv. i come close with cold shot, but it doesn't sound good when i solo, the rythym part is real close though. the speed of the univibe just does not seem fast enough for me.

thanx for the help guys

Well Stevie used a Vibe unit that costs damn well near a grand now, and for good reason too. Just something to keep in mind.

for my "Texas Tone" rig, i run the pedalboard u see whith just the (2) Twins.

for my "Fire and Ice" rig (hard rock), i run the (2) Twins for clean and obviously the XXX for only the dirty...and i swap out the Ts9's and the octave fuzz from the board.
u can hear some samples on our band's website.

i am thinking about experimenting with the ts9's and the XXX. looking for a little boost for my leads possibly on both channels.
